Hangs and handpans have always been in short supply. Felix and Sabina, the creators of the Hang, stopped making them in 2013, concentrating their efforts on a new instrument called the Gubal. Though other manufacturers began making handpans in 2007, the intensely hand-made nature of the instruments means that waiting lists are generally years in length. Handpans are sometimes available for sale on eBay, though often for far more than the cost of new instruments (to the dismay of manufacturers, who are trying to avoid charging absurdly high prices for their instruments).
