Comet NEOWISE

A relatively bright visitor made an appearance in the skies during July, comet C/2020 F3 (aka NEOWISE). It started out as a pre-dawn apparition but became visible in the evening sky by mid-month. At its brightest, the comet's tail was faintly visible to the naked eye and quite distinct through binoculars. But cameras, using time exposures of 20 or 30 minutes total length, revealed the spectacular extent of the tail, portions too faint to be seen by human eyes.
