A Red-tailed Hawk pausing to devour a furry hors d'oeuvre (RIP) in one of the black locust trees in the back yard. I opened the slider to the deck to take these pictures with the AT-65Q scope. The bird could hear the camera clicking away behind the telescope and threw me some dirty looks, but he put up with it until he'd finished his meal.
A month later, a neighbor pointed out another Red-tail high up in a tree across the river + highway. Pictures here.
